Chiltern Cycleway.

I have spent the morning attending a meeting with the Chiltern AONB and the Chiltern Society. The CTC are working in partnership with both organisations and are taking the lead on a very exciting project - The Chiltern Cycleway. Over the last year or so, myself and numerous volunteers have been riding out in the Chilterns to firm up the 170 mile cycle route - nice work if you can get it! We now have a definitive route and are in the process of applying for funding.
The route covers Bucks, Bedfordshire, Herts and Berkshire, where there will be several gateway towns to join the route. There will also be circular routes from each each town, that will accommodate families and the occasional cyclist.
Approval for the funding will be in known in the next couple of months, with the view of launching the route May 2010 - if we are successful?
A fantastic opportunity to get people to visit the beautiful Chilterns and no better way, than on a bike!
